DINWIDDIE – The 2017 Dinwiddie County’s much-anticipated annual Christmas Parade, “A Family Country Christmas,” is just around the corner.

The joyous and festive parade is always a major highlight of the Christmas Season for Dinwiddie residents.

This year’s parade promises to be bigger and better than ever!

The parade will be held on Saturday, December 16, at 1:00 p.m., departing from Dinwiddie Middle School, located on Courthouse Road, and travel South to the entrance of Dinwiddie Medical Center (across from the Verizon building).

The Dinwiddie County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade is an annual tradition for county residents, and this is the 11th year.

The Parade is the Chamber’s way of saying “thank you” to the county, its businesses, and residents for their ongoing support. Many residents feel the season is just not the same without the annual Parade.

With over 50 entries in this year’s Parade, there will absolutely be something for everyone. Festive holiday floats and entries of every size and description, decorations, singing, and so much more.

It could not be independently confirmed prior to publication, but we have it on good authority that the “Big Man” himself will be making an appearance!

“Months of planning go into this event and it takes not only the efforts of the Chamber committee and Dinwiddie residents but our community partners to make this event a success each year,” said Lisa Wajick, Membership and Marketing Specialist with the Dinwiddie County Chamber of Commerce.

She continued, “We would like to thank Touchstone Bank; Bank of Southside Virginia; Edmunds Waste Removal; Village Sheds; Strosnider Chevrolet; and Jason Dean, Independent Agent; all of whom faithfully contribute their time and resources year-after-year and are key in making this event a success. Also, we are excited to have Food Lion onboard this year as a Gold Event Sponsor, and Southside Electric and Colonial Farm Credit as Trophy Sponsors. We appreciate all our generous sponsors.”

Awards will be presented for the best entries immediately following the parade, at the County-sponsored “Celebrate the Season” Event!

Everyone is welcome to attend. Dinwiddie residents, don’t miss the social event of the entire Christmas season!
