DINWIDDIE – Surrounded by residents, well-wishers, staff, and family, the owners and staff of Browder’s Towing & Service Center, Incorporated, celebrated the grand opening of their new expanded facility.

This ceremonial grand opening was held on Oct. 5 and represents 44 years of dedicated service by the Browder’s to all of Central Virginia and the Tri-Cities communities. The new state-of-the-art facility is located at 6820 Boydton Plank Road, North Dinwiddie.

“All of us here in Dinwiddie County are so appreciative of our new businesses, and also to those businesses that continue to evolve and expand,” remarked Daniel Lee, Vice-Chair, Dinwiddie Board of Supervisors, in his welcoming remarks to the large crowd. “We are especially proud of those family-owned businesses, like the Browder’s. This new facility is phenomenal, and their family must be so proud. It is heartwarming that the Browder’s have such a tremendous legacy for their next generation. This is a great day for Dinwiddie County.”

Flanked by the Browder’s staff, Jerry and Barbara Browder, owners, assisted their daughter, son-in-law, niece, and two young grandchildren, as they cut the ceremonial ribbon, marking the beginning of a new era for the family-run business. To celebrate their expansion, and 44-years of service, Browder’s invited the community to come to enjoy a morning and afternoon of entertainment. There was an abundance of great fun for everyone. Guests were treated to live band and DJ performances, great giveaways, food, and sweet treats during the event. Kids, and kids-at-heart enjoyed a carnival-like experience, with balloon twisting to make really cool animals, train rides, bounce houses, cotton candy dipped in Dots, and delicious funnel cakes.

“Today’s commencement is the outcome of much planning for the future of our children and grandchildren, a better working environment to service the community, and most importantly, evidence of overflowing blessings from God, our provider,” said Barbara Browder, Vice President.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, those attending were invited to tour the new 12,000-square-foot facility. The new facility provides mechanic service, auto sales, and 24-hour roadside assistance. The fleet of 13 light, medium, and heavy-duty customized flatbeds and wreckers were parked along the roadside, welcoming the gathered collection of vintage and show-ready cars and motorcycles that bordered the lawn. At the closing of the celebration, there was a tribute to the Browder’s that brought owner, Jerry Browder to tears.

“This is better than I could have ever imagined,” remarked Jerry Browder, Vice President. “I started this business with one truck and a push from Will Nunnally. Now today, to see our expanded business and so many of you that have come to share this with us, I know that we are truly blessed.”

Will Nunnally, Jerry’s former employer, encouraged him to launch the business after seeing special potential and dedication in Jerry as a valued employee. Jerry and Barbara started small, but the business quickly took off. Jerrica Browder Dixon, CEO, and Operations Manager, warmly hugged several staff members and friends as they entered the new building during the grand opening event.

“My parents started a legacy that I am proud to manage, commented Jerrica Browder Dixon, CEO, and Operations Manager. “It is such a blessing to experience this kind of tremendous growth; however, we will always cherish our past. Our family has always wanted to build an establishment in which our staff, and our customers, can feel at home. We believe that this shows our appreciation for the dedicated service of our staff, and appreciation for the business of our customers. In our new facility, children are also entertained during their visit in the Kid’s Corner. There are iPad kiosks, books, and even miniature recliners.”

Browder’s Towing and Service Center, Incorporated, welcomes all residents of Central Virginia to visit their brand-new facility, anytime Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can also reach them 24-7 by telephone at (804) 861-8161.
