DINWIDDIE – The Dinwiddie High School Choir has come up with what might be the most romantic Valentine’s Day gift of all time.

This Valentine’s Day, you can surprise that special someone with a personal serenade and Singing Valentine by the soon-to-be-famous Sweetheart Singing Trio. These personal singing Valentines can be delivered to nearby Dinwiddie county offices, businesses, or any Dinwiddie County Public School. Your Valentine serenade will be sung by one of the DHS Choir’s Sweetheart Singer trios. The personal serenade will also include a box of decadently delicious chocolates.

“We are trying to raise money for the travel costs for our two upcoming competitions in Washington, D.C, and Kings Dominion,” said Lauren Coble, DHS Choir and Guitar Teacher. “I’m so hopeful that our county government offices, businesses, and community is interested in this new idea. Who wouldn’t want to be serenaded for Valentine’s Day?”

Your husband, wife, significant other, beloved relative, friend, treasured co-worker or neighbor—everyone wants to be remembered and feel special on Valentine’s Day. What could be more special than a personal serenade by a trio of talented singers? There will be a selection of four different songs for the serenade. You can choose “All of Me,” by John Legend; “Can’t Help Falling in Love, by Elvis; “I’m Yours,” by Jason Mraz; or “Lean on Me,” by Bill Withers.

The cost is only $30, which includes a box of chocolates, and all funds will be used by the DHS Choir for travel to competitions. Please telephone Lauren Coble at (804) 442-6619, or email at lcoble@dcpsnet.org to reserve your time for February 12, 13, or 14.

The DHS Choir members are so excited about this unusual opportunity to raise funds to travel to their competitions.

“I can’t wait to see how happy everyone is to hear us sing,” said Kyla Alexander! “I’m so glad we’re doing this.”

“I’m excited for this new experience, and to sing out in our community,” Sierra Dyson shared.

“It’s going to be really fun spreading music and love in our area and our school,” remarked Sean Cutright.

“I’m going to be excited to see the smiles on their faces when we surprise them for Valentine’s Day,” Jessica Howerton said.

Dinwiddie High School students can also get in on the fun, and at a greatly discounted rate. This Valentine’s Day, they can surprise their fellow students, friends, or a beloved teacher with a Singing Valentine personally-delivered by the DHS Sweetheart Singer trio at the school.

The personal serenades will be delivered during advisory GEN block on Wednesday, February 13. Students can order one of these perfect Valentine’s Day gifts during lunch on February 6 through 12.

“I think this will be such a wonderful opportunity for my students to step out of their normal classroom setting, and do something unusual and fun,” said Coble. “I hope it’s a huge hit, and that we are able to do this again next year as well!
