The Dinwiddie HS Army JROTC cadets attended their mandatory JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC) course June 24-29 2016. Cadets and instructors from as far as Roanoke Rapids, the Tidewater area and central Virginia attend this course held annually at Fort A.P. Hill. This year our program took 16 cadets who have shown the potential to be great leaders. Cadets participated in events such as: obstacle course, rappelling, drown-proofing, orienteering, rifle marksmanship, drill and ceremony, leadership reactionary course and sports.
This year, as in the past, our cadets were recognized for their exceptional performance. Cadet Diamond Jackson received a Honor cadet award from her assigned company, Cadet Noami Rivera was selected for a Distinguished Cadet award from her company and Cadet Tiffany Rhone received a Special Recognition award. This JCLC course works to take cadets out of their comfort zone and requires them to build friendships and bonds with cadets from other areas. Our JROTC cadets represented their high school and Dinwiddie County exceptionally well.
