PRINCE GEORGE – Two people have been arrested in connection with a series of thefts from local hardware stores where chainsaws and outdoor equipment were the target items.
According to Prince George Police, 39-year-old Dinwiddie resident Terry Bell Jr. and 24-year-old Hopewell native Brandi Flippo were placed under arrested after authorities linked the pair to the theft of four chainsaws from the Lowe’s Home Improvement store just off Puddledock Road and Temple Avenue over the past month.
Through working with the store’s loss prevention team and reviewing the store’s security footage, police determined Bell and Flippo simply walked into the busy hardware store, grabbed one of the chainsaws on four different occasions and walked out with the equipment without paying.
When the pair were arrested, police said they found another chainsaw and leaf blower that they believe was stolen from another locality.
Both Bell and Flippo are facing four counts each of grand larceny, conspiracy to commit larceny, and selling stolen property for profit.
Following their arrest, they were both taken to Riverside Regional Jail, where they remain as of press time.
