Dinwiddie School Board recognizes retirees for years of dedicated service

DINWIDDIE – The Dinwiddie County School Board recognized twenty retiring teachers and staff, along with 22 staff members who had perfect attendance at the June 13 meeting. Many of the retirees expressed their appreciation to the school division for the opportunity to work, including Southside Elementary Teacher Denise Day, who will be returning to tutor children through the PALS program.

“Thank you for the opportunity to work for Dinwiddie County,” Day said. “I’ve loved it, so I’m not actually leaving, I’m coming back to do PALS because I love my children.”Superintendent David Clark is among those retiring at the end of June. He has served as superintendent for seven years. The school board recognized Clark with a resolution thanking him for his contribution to the division, and each board member spoke about his retirement.
