UPDATE: Missing Dinwiddie teenager found safe

DINWIDDIE – The Dinwiddie Sheriff’s Office has reported that the missing teenager has been found safe and returned to her family.

DINWIDDIE – The Dinwiddie Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing teenager last seen Friday afternoon.

Through a post on the Dinwiddie County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, the department confirmed they are looking for 16-year-old Lailah Jelena Harris, who was last seen by her family on Friday afternoon, August 4, 2017, at approximately 4:00 pm.

She was last seen in the company of three black males that were not known to her family leaving her residence in Dinwiddie County in a black Honda sedan. 

Lailah is described as being a bi-racial 16-year-old female, 5’7” tall and weighing 153lbs. with brown dreadlocks. She was last seen wearing a black and white t-shirt and jeans shorts.

According to authorities, it is possible that she may be somewhere in the City of Petersburg, near the 5th Ward area.
