McKenney man loses life in Dinwiddie car crash

DINWIDDIE – A McKenney man lost his life in a vehicle crash in the county Monday, Virginia State Police reports.

In a statement, Virginia State Police Sgt. Stephan Vick confirmed 60-year-old Clarence Thomas died in a crash along U.S. Route 1 just south of Westover Drive in Dinwiddie just after 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 10.

Through their investigation, state troopers revealed that the 1989 Chevrolet El Camino driven by Thomas was traveling southbound when it ran off the road to the left and overturned several times, partially ejecting the driver.

Thomas was the only individual in the car at the time of the crash and he was not wearing a seatbelt.
