DINWIDDIE – School officials say nearly two dozen Dinwiddie County Public Schools students are fine after the bus they were riding to school was involved in an accident Monday morning.
According to Dinwiddie County Public Schools Director of Staff Development and Instructional Technology Christie Clarke, just after 8 a.m. Monday, school bus #2 was involved in a single-vehicle accident as it transported 20 Midway Elementary School students to class. The bus was traveling westbound on Cox Road at the time of the accident.
While few details are known about the circumstances surrounding the single-vehicle accident, Clarke said, “Based on assessments made at the scene, there [were] no injuries reported by the students or the bus driver.”
School officials are in the process of notifying the parents and guardians of the students who were aboard school bus #2 at the time of the accident.
Virginia State Police is actively investigating the Monday morning accident.
