Sheriff’s Office cars carry new message

The Dinwiddie County Sheriff’s Office has a new logo on their police vehicles, starting what appears to be a new tradition.

According to Tina Hazelwood, of Graceful Touch Creations, the idea started from a Facebook post when it was shared the Amelia County vehicles were carrying the phrase, “In God We Trust” on them. Hazelwood said she saw the post after it was shared by her friend Angie Miller, and Dinwiddie County Sheriff Duck Adams was approached about the idea.

“(The Sheriff) said it had been approved but they needed the funds,” Hazelwood said.

Miller then approached Hazelwood she was then messaged by Miller to see if she could put the phrase on the cars free of charge for the Sheriff’s Office.

“I told her yes I would do it for free to get God on the cars,” Hazelwood said.

Miller was told by Adams to contact the County Administrator’s office as well as her representative on the County Board of Supervisors, and two days later, Hazelwood said, the ball began to roll.

Hazelwood said she is outfitting 30 cars with the phrase, all free of charge to the County though her business, Graceful Touch Creations.
