DINWIDDIE – Virginia State Police is investigating what led to a deadly single-car crash in the county’s south side Thursday morning that claimed the life of one and left two others seriously injured.

According to Virginia State Police spokesperson Sgt. Stephan Vick, a 2005 Chevrolet Blazer was traveling westbound on Flatfoot Road near the intersection of Old Stage Road when it ran off the road to the right and struck a tree on the driver’s side around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
